1966 Chevy Corvair Yenko Stinger Hot Wheels Car
This is one of my favorite cars in the world. This car is the Chevy equal to a Ford Cobra. It’s a straight up race car. Jay Leno bought this car from a fireman that restored it. There were only 100 of these cars built by Don Yenko.
It came in the Jay Leno’s Garage set from Hot Wheels and I used it in this shot because — well — I could.
I used a diorama that is essentially just a photo of an AutoZone store and a brick wall printed and mounted to gator foam. Same with the parking lot.
There is a 3D printed car hoist, and car ramps in the scene along with some Hot Wheels spare tires in front of the “store.”
I used my Fuji X100V to make the photo. Mounted to a Platyball.
I did the post work in Boris FX Optics and Photoshop.
I added the night sky, the cracks in the walls and the pavement, the cityscape background, the Jay Leno sign, the haze, the mechanic and the color grade in post.
