Chaos Space Marine

These warriors fight for everything they were once forbidden to indulge in as the ascetic servants of the Emperor and the selfless guardians of Mankind. Pleasure, wealth, mayhem, but above all else, the power to rule their fellow Humans in the name of the Chaos Gods is the driving ambition and goal of every Chaos Space Marine.

I have been trying to decide how to make a photograph of this guy which portrays — well — chaos. So I found these gargoyle bookends and decided to shoot the subject against a plain white background.

Then I created a hazy, smoky background using AI and I composited the toy on top. I wanted to infer a battleground.

I used BorisFX Optics for all the other effects including laser eyes for the gargoyles, red eyes for the marine and red lightning for the background along with some more smoke.

I made the image with my trusty Fuji X100V. Light was from a Genaray Full Moon 18" Bi-Color LED Light — https://bhpho.to/3PcAFQx bounced off the ceiling at a 45 degree angle and then reflected back onto the toy using both a silver reflector on the right side (off camera) and a white reflector in front of the figure — laying flat on the table.

I think it came out how I hoped it would. I hope you like it.
