Fennec Shand And Her Spotchka

Krill is used in brewing spotchka. Fennec Shand’s home brew is the highlight of this photo. I purposefully used a shallow depth-of-field to put the hooch in focus, but leaving Shand’s face soft. You can tell its her, so we know the story. You don’t have to always direct the viewer’s eye to the subject’s face. Sometimes what they are holding is more interesting.

I photographed the piece against a 3D printed background using my Fujifilm X Series US X100 mounted on a Platyball and Platypod — I used a combination of Photoshop and Topaz Photo AI as well as BorisFX 2022 to edit in post.
